Spring Cleaning

 I don't think this term could possibly be any more appropriate at this time.  Lets face it, our country has managed to pre-emptively slaughter wholesale the lives of innocent people for the purpose of personal greed and ambition.  The Bush Administration has completely disregarded any diplomatic strategies  involving the United Nations.  Constitutional rights continue to remain threatened as an extreme right wing Regime in this country begins to attack each little aspect of freedom and good conscience our founding fathers intended. 

 Its time to clean the closet.   Remember those termites in the basement I mentioned last month?  Well, heres a nettle to reach down and grab.  How did such a turn of events actually come about?   This is an enlightened nation.  One of the biggest most stable superpowers on the globe.  Well you know the old saying, the bigger they are the harder they fall… from this point on we may very well have to watch out for tumbling wreckage and run for open ground while the nation collectively faces its  conscience in the matter. 

 It was pointed out to me recently that this last presidential election had the lowest possible voter turn out the country has ever not seen.  The apathy in this country has reached such an incredible high that we really have no right to complain about the fact that if we don't vote for our own president, the government will choose it for us.   That is precisely what happened.   Probably a good 60% of the populace never made it to the polls, and so when the race came down to the wire, it was an easy count to fudge and I personally believe there was a great deal of unethical fudging going on.  Such an enlightened nation you would think at the very least should know how to count properly.  

 Hind sight being 20/20, its time to move beyond it now and wake up again. On your feet warriors for the Mother Earth!  Allow me to have your attention one more time.  

 Listed in this issue  are some resources for websites which will help those of you who choose, become motivated to get involved once again in having a voice in the world.  The reality is many people are too lazy and too caught up in their personal lives to notice much what is going on around them.   So given that tendency, I'll try and do some footwork here to make it so those with little time to spare can have the convenience of becoming informed at the push of a button without wasting a lot of search time to find the information on their own. 

 REGISTER TO VOTE:   you can do it on line at the click of the mouse.   Go to:  www.ss.ca.gov/   fill out the application on line with the relevant information and they will send you a form in the mail.  All you need to do is sign the form, and send it back, postage prepaid.  It takes a minute of your time. You don't have to drive anywhere to do it.    You must re-register to vote anytime you change your address or location, or anytime you wish to change your party.   Democrats certainly need a lot of assistance these days in fighting for personal freedoms.  Those of you who wish to vote Green should do so, however with the state of affairs being what they are at the moment, voting Democrat might be a little more useful until our government stabalizes again.   Green voting tends to get overlooked a little still, and in the current state of emergency, the Democrats have more political clout then the Green Party does. 

 You can also become informed about the California League of Conservation Voters:   www.ecovote.org   This website should keep you apprised of things you can do to get involved in California with regards to conservation and environmental concerns, issues being brought to the table for discussion or other relevant matters.   Become a member and stay educated.
