HADES ARCHIVES

It may come as no surprise that Hades was the not the best loved God of Olympus.  As a result it is actually difficult to find a great deal written specifically about him.  The Hellenistic Greek mind was not one to contemplate his realm to any great degree.  It was probably only due to the story of the abduction of Persephone that he even made the history books at all since there do not seem to be a great deal of other Greek legends which figure him prominently to any degree. 

I've discovered in my researches that it is best to look at this deity from a holistic point of view and examine all of his cross cultural counterparts to get an inkling of what he is about.  What is provided here are the results of my searches from the ancient Greek world.  Feel free to peruse other parts of the underworld pages to read about underworld deities from other parts of the world.
