I spent the better part of my life working in the horse industry in many different capacities. My primary experience was with racehorses and show jumpers. A love for horses was inherited from my family so I was practically born on a horse. Both of my parents rode horses semi professionally and my grandfather was a farrier most of his life.
I worked as a groom and an exercise rider for many years in the racing industry. I trained free-lance on the side and I also assisted in the sales preparation of horses for California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Sales. I assisted in the veterinary and rehabilitation care of many horses over the years including the administering of lazer, microcurrent and aqua-tred therapies. I also briefly worked under strict, California state regulations, as a groom and caretaker for thoroughbred racehorses in a quarantine facility.
After many years of riding and training horses, I gradually shifted gears and became more involved in the alternative healthcare field for horses. I took a job as the assistant for an animal chiropractor, (Bay Area Animal Chiropractic / Dr. Michael Gleason DC.) a position I held for seven years before becoming a massage therapist. My primary job was to handle and safely provide restraint for the horses while my employer worked on them. With my extensive experience with the rehabilitation of horses and their injuries, and my natural aptitude and interest in the healing arts; combined with my metaphysical background; I transitioned easily into the field of massage therapy for humans.
